Original Film Score – Dramatic Dialogue-driven Scene
The soundtrack starts from a musical dialogue between strings, mirroring inner confrontation and psychological tension. Fragmentary rhythms and evolving textures form the emotional underlay of a score that balances between alienation and acceptance.
Initial Concept
The original idea for the soundtrack was built around a musical conversation between the first and second violin, mirroring the protagonist’s unsettling dialogue with her own reflection. What begins as a cautious exchange gradually transforms into conflict, confrontation and emotional release, echoing the film’s psychological arc.
Inspired by the emotional progression of grief and self-realisation, the score uses fragmented rhythms and interweaving string lines to create a sense of instability and inner tension. As the ensemble expands, this dialogue dissolves into a broader, more expressive musical language.
While this conversational concept served as a strong creative foundation, it was refined during the editing process to better support the film’s visual narrative. The final score retains its thematic DNA, translated into a more subtle and cinematic form.

Score Approach
The score unfolds around a recurring light motif that gradually transforms from an intimate solo voice into a dense, orchestral texture. Contrasting sections from fragile, centered string writing to darker, spatially rich ensemble passages, shape the emotional arc of the music.
Through subtle recording choices, layered performances and expressive string techniques, the soundtrack shifts between vulnerability and menace. Organic playing and experimental processing merge into a cinematic sound world that reinforces the film’s unsettling atmosphere.
